“White Crust” has a surface of a brilliant whiteness, almost broken by a tangle of black cracks that cross the work like a fractal network. The general aspect evokes that of a cracked ground, like a land in full transformation, where each crack seems to be a scar of time, an imprint of a metamorphosis in progress.

The texture of the painting, made with painted coatings gives the impression of a thick and vivid material, almost palpable, where the intense shine of the paint emphasizes the contrast between the softness of white and the rigor of black cracks. The glossy effect accentuates the light that is reflected on the roughness, giving a feeling of depth, movement, as if the work was in perpetual evolution.

The cracks, of an almost organic finesse, unfold on the surface like a network of veins, suggesting a process of degradation or rebirth. They symbolize the transformation, decomposition of one state to another, a continuous change, an incessant metamorphosis, both violent and sublime.

Overall, the painting invites reflection on the passage of time, on the fragility of things and on the beauty of evolution.
