The “matierist” adventure is resolutely a perception of the world, a look beyond the surface to penetrate its mysteries, in the image of life in its multiple facets…
On my “sculptural collages”, the texture is made up of collages of recycled materials (cardboard, textile, paper…) that I consider as the «body» of a work. Colour becomes a «skin», capable of transcending it. Both are inseparable and I like to force their dialogue to create harmony.
Some of the works presented here are the result of a work initiated in 2012 around the notion of “packaging” and its paradoxes: packaging that sometimes conceals, sometimes protects or reveals: series “nude” (material exposed in monochromes), “shrouds” (a veil of matter, like a shroud). Others are inspired by life’s emotions such as the “Trabucco”, inspired by these fishing vessels in Italy, both monstrous and aerial, which overlook the sea.
Current themes: series “Fragments” (the fragments of materials reconstituting a whole that takes meaning, such as life and its memories). In 2025, I will initiate a work on memory, inspired by my heavy experience of accompanying Alzheimer’s.
