Painted metallic wires

A resolutely contemporary work imbued with poetry and evocation of the ancient maritime heritage of the Gargano region, in Italy. It is made of twisted and painted metal wires, creating a complex and aerial structure.

In this work, the metallic wires seem to unfold and intertwine, capturing the fragility and robustness of the trabucchi. The metal, both hard and fluid, evokes the paradoxical nature of these constructions, which rest on rocky shores while seeming suspended in the air, floating almost above water. The superposition of threads creates a visual tension, while giving the whole a lightness and transparency, as if the work was in motion, capturing the fleeting moment of a calm sea or a light breeze.

The colours of the sea, dominated by pure white, bring a feeling of immensity and serenity. This white, bright and immaculate, can be interpreted as the purity of the sea horizon or the light reflected on the water. The blue metallic reflections add depth and brightness, evoking both the sea surface and the play of light that dances on the water. The metallic blue, fluid and sparkling, seems to capture the variations of the sea, creating movements and shadows, while reinforcing the poetic dimension of the work.
