The scratches and abrasions on the oil paint are like visible scars, representing suffering, loss, but also resilience in the face of adversity. The tension between degradation and hope of reconstruction seems to inhabit every brush stroke, every notch.
The colours used – red, black and grey – convey an atmosphere of duality and strong contrasts. Red, often associated with passion or violence, is opposed to the deep black that evokes night, suffering or death. Grey, on the other hand, acts as an intermediate space, a transition zone that could suggest hope or grief, the blur between the two worlds. Together, these shades create a visual tension, a complex dialogue between destruction, pain, and the possibility of rebirth.
Overall, Resilience is a work that, while capturing the violence of the deconstruction process, invites reflection on the possibility of renewal, an internal transformation journey where wounds become witnesses of a persistent creative force.
